The West Lake

Hangzhou¡¯s GDP reached 509.866 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 10 percent. The service sector grew by 13.9% and the industry climbed by 6%. The ratio of the economic contribution by the three industries is 3.7:47.8:48.5. The total government revenue amounts to 101.943 billion RMB, an increase of 12% over that of 2008 and the revenue by the local governments reaches 52.079 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 14.4%. The total fixed asset investment is 229,165 billion RMB, an increase of 15.7%. The total volume of consumption of retail goods is 180,493 billion RMB, an increase of 15.8%. The research and development investment takes up 2.6% of the GDP. The energy consumption for every ten thousand RMB of GDP drops by more than 5%. The Chemical Oxygen Demand and sulfur dioxide discharge decrease each by 3%...
