¡¾Industrial Development¡¿

With accelerating the adjustment, the industrial economy was optimized. The added value of industry was 215.71 billion yuan, up by 6.0% over the previous year. The profit and tax provided by the industrial enterprises above designated sizes stood at 85.93 billion yuan and of which the profit was 49.599 billion yuan, up by 15.5% and 20.8%, all higher than the increase of the added value.

¡¾New Industries¡¿

The new strategic industries have been supported strongly. The development of new energy has breakthrough, Chint, Shu Qimeng, Jimei, Wanxiang and other companies formed a fairly complete industrial chain; the first 2-megawatt rooftop solar power station was completed in Qianjiang Economic Development Zone, Zhejiang Province, generated electricity and merged into grid officially. The sales value of the key solar PV industry of the city reached 2.935 billion yuan, up by 12.2%. The Internet of Things industry begun to take shape; companies, such as Hikvision, Gemcore Technologies, formed a number of core technologies in the wireless sensors, radio frequency identification technology, and the industrialization has made good progress.

 

¡¾Technological Innovation¡¿

Hangzhou enhanced the strength in blazing new trails in technology. In 2009, the capital for science and technology rose by 19.0%. There were 454 high-tech enterprise centers, including 14 state-level and 132 provincial-level. The ratio of the new product reached 16.73%, stimulating the growth of industrial production by 2.7 percentage points.


¡¾Energy Saving¡¿

The result of energy-saving was significantly. In 2009, energy consumption per GDP of total enter pr ises downed by 5.6% over the previous year. The energy consumption of the industrial added value of above designated size downed over 6.4%. The electric consumption of per GDP and all industrial added value downed 2.87% and 0.94% respectively.

¡¾Brand Strategy¡¿

Hangzhou executed actively the s trategy of brand development. Aser ies of renowned products and famous brands enjoying relatively greater popularity and influence in China were formed. "Qianchao" knob was first awarded the "world famous brand products in China" in Zhejiang province. By the end of 2009, there were 52 brand-name products in China and 78 China's
well-known trademarks.
