Physical under takings developed healthily and coordinately. In 2008, Hangzhou athletes won 2 silver medals and broke 1 world record in Beijing Olympic Games. The 29th Olympic Games Olympic fl ame torch relay station in Hangzhou activities successfully organized. A series Sports Competition with international infl uence, such as the 2008 Intercontinental basketball Stankovic Cup game, "Zhonghao Cup" World Women's Squash Classic Occupation and WDS world race car drift, organized successfully. The mass sports developed further. By the end of the year, there were 2,153 exercise spots in the city, increased 762 over the previous year and 9,291 exercise equipments were fi tted. A total of 1,636 exercise activities at district- and county-level were held with 780,000 person-times. The physical exercise rate of population reached 48 percent. The distribution channels were broaden continued. In 2008, the sales volume of sport lottery reached 864 million yuan, up by 8 percent over the previous year.
