1.Agricultural Output
The agricultural production grew steadily. In 2008, the total output value of farming, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery achieved 27.376 billion yuan, up by 4.3 percent at comparable price over the previous year. The metropolisoriented and efficiency agriculture remained sound development. The output value of “The Six Advantageous Industries” including tea, seedling plants, aquatic products, grain-saving livestock and poultry, vegetables and bamboos, and “the Five Featured Industries” including fresh fruits, dried fruits, silk-worm cocoons & mulberry, medicinal materials and honey achieved the total value reached 18.579 billion yuan ,accounted for 67.9 percent, increased 0.6 percentage points compared with the previous year.

2.Agricultural Industrialization

The level of agricultural industrialization was advanced toughly. By the end of 2008, the number of leading agricultural enterprises at municipal level was 282, the enterprises processing agricultural produces whose annual sales income was over 100 million yuan amounted to 56 and 850 rural professional cooperative organizations were cultivated. The export-oriented agriculture developed continuously. The agreement foreign investment was 69 million US dollars, the agreement domestic investment was 0.39 billion yuan. The delivered value of agricultural export produces 0.947 billion US dollars, up by 14.8 percent. Agri-tourism recreation and tourism continued to develop vigorously. 297 leisure and tourism agricultural zones (points) and Nongjiale leisure travel villages had been built, reaching 0.792 billion yuan in leisure agriculture tourism income.

3.Agricultural Science and Technology
Agricultural Science and Technology developed continuously. In 2008, the coverage rate of improved varieties reached over 97.03 percent. created 281,800 mu pollution-free bases area, and 282 new-created security agricultural brand name products. The passing rate of agricultural products quality and safety checking reached 99.1 percent of the bases. There were 79 agriculture key technology applications and scientifi c and technological achievements transformed into the project implemented, 9 increased provincial-level agricultural enterprise R & D centers and 16 increased provincial-level agricultural hightech enterprise parks. The "peasant-mail in 10 thousand villages networking project" was implemented orderly with 679 villages and 180,00 registered users.

4.Agricultural Infrastructure Construction

The construction of agricultural infrastructure was intensified. By the end of 2008, Hangzhou built a total of 1,619,500 mu farmland at new standard, reclamation new arable land 8,818 mu, and formed new land 13,800 mu. There were 2,599,800 mu soil testing fertilization promoted; 10 highly efficient eco-agriculture demonstration zones established. A series of safe projects were constructed, such as 60 small and medium-sized reservoirs,187 ponds etc. The construction of Wanli river water was carried out actively, with 399.6 kilometers completed. A total of 13 rivers were tamed, harnessing 142.45 square kilometers of soil erosion.

5.The Actual Projects for Peasants

Focusing on improving rural production and living conditions, the life quality of peasant was improved. In 2008, the capital for the building of new countryside reached 0.686 billion yuan, up by 25.6 percent compared wit h t he la st year. The co - const ruc ting b e t we en enterprises and countryside&village steady progressed. The enterprises, towns, and villages reached 2,817, 167, 2,103 respectively. The projects which implemented reached 2,497, and the capital was 1,396 million yuan. The project of 100 Model Village and 1,000 Rectifi cation was conducted in depth. There were 224 model villages and 2,160 emphasized rectification villages passed checking, reaching 57 percent. The quality of the peasants training projects were implemented continuously. There were 226,000 peasants trained and 58,000 people transfered in employment. The long lasting cleaning litter system in rural areas was established and 90% of the township set up trash transfer facility. The rural life sewage treatment was carried out vigorously with 62,800 rural households using living sewage treatment and 71,100 increased cubic meters in sewage treatment pond.
