Economic Structure

1.Industrial Structure The industrial structure of Hangzhou had been improved. The structure of agricultural economy and the level of agricultural industrialization were advanced toughly. The development of modern service industry and the process of new industrialization were fastened. In 2008, the realized value-added of the primary industry was 17.864 billion yuan, up by 3.6 percent over the previous year at the comparable prices. The realized value added of the secondary industry reached 238.938 billion yuan, up by 9.0 percent. The realized value-added of the tertiary industry reached 221.314 billion yuan, up by 13.8 percent. The proportion of the three Industries had changed from 4.1 prerious,50.2 percent,45.7 percent of the praises year into 3.7 percent, 50.0 percent and 46.3 percent respectively.

2.Employment Structure The employment struc ture has been improved continuously. In 2008, the proportion of employees in 3 Industries had changed from 15.8 percent, 46.0 percent and 38.2 percent of the previous year into 14.1 percent, 46.3 percent and 39.6 percent respectively. The ratio of employees in the secondary industry and in the tertiary industry was increased 0.3 and1.4 percentage points respevtively . The ratio in the primary and in the secondary dropped 1.7 percentage points.

3.Investment Structure Hangzhou had further optimized investment structure. In 2008, Hangzhou invested 196.172 billion yuan in the fixed assets and 186.352 billion yuan in fixed assets above designated size, up by 16.5 percent and 17.7 percent over the previous year resspectively. The investment of the primary industry was 0.308 billion yuan, up by 32.4 percent. The investment of the secondary industry reached 57.057 billion yuan, up by 7.9 percent. The investment of the tertiary industry reached 128.986 billion yuan, up by 22.5 percent. The proportion of fi xed asset investment in 3 industries stood at 0.2:30.6:69.2. The investment coming from diversified increasingly. The investment in fi xed assets made by the nonstate sector stood at 90.724 billion yuan, accounting for 48.7 percent of the city¡¯s total. A total of 57.854 billion yuan went to projects above 100 million, accounting for 31.1 percent.

4.Ownership Structure The non-public economy continued to develop. In 2008, in GDP of Hangzhou, the proportion of the public economy decreased from 32.6 percent of the previous year to 31.4 percent. The non-public economy accounted for 68.6 percent of Hangzhou¡¯s GDP, of which the private and individual economic sectors accounted for 49.2 percent, increased 1.2 percentage points and 1.4 percentage points compared with the previous year respectively.
